The Ann Marks Endowment As the Arts Council works in its third decade of service to Brownsville and Haywood County, it truly stands as the threshold of great things. A generous endowment from Mrs. J.S. Marks, Jr. helps insure the needed funding to continue the Council’s many programs, and move on to new and exciting projects. “Miss” Ann’s contribution to the community was recognized in 1999, when the Theatre at College Hill was renamed “The Ann L. Marks Performing Arts Center.” In addition, the annual Contribution Drive provides the vital individual, corporate and government support so desperately needed to continue these programs. By continuing to do what it does best and championing the arts in all its forms, the Arts Council will be an important force for years to come. It will truly continue to be “The Art and Soul of Our Community.” |
